At the west part of the Castillo de la Fuerza ( Castle of the Royal Force) there are three adjoining houses offering a great urban coherence. Facing the stronghold that shows the giraldilla is located the oldest, marked by a number 12.
In 1725 this house acquired the similar physiognomy to that it shows today when it was rebuilt and extended to two stories. Halfway through the 18th Century the house was joined to the building Tacon 8 to form a unique house.
The façade with landscape proportions show a totally symmetric distribution in the upper floor with a central balcony flanked by two other small ones. In the ground floor the symmetry is broken when the axis of the main façade is moved.
Like in the common houses at the 18th Century, there is a hallway to access the galleries of the courtyard. Also, the house presented courtyard and backyard which were very important for the ventilation and lightning. This house also presented elaborated carved and ornate wood ceiling and valuable paintings in its interior.
