Located at the mouth of the La Chorrera River, today Almendares river, located at the west part of Havana, it was part of the defensive system of the city. Its construction was ordered at the same time than that of the Cojimar, therefore, they have similar constructive characteristics.

This is a building of keystones with rectangular storey and closed structure. It owns two levels, with the staircase separated from the block built by a bridge. In one of its angles, it has a sentry box that together with the proportions of the fort and the peculiar design of its staircase presents a beautiful work.
