For two centuries this construction was successively remodeled and extended until it reached its current appearance where diverse constructive styles and techniques harmoniously related are showed. It is composed of a church, a convent and a peculiar arch vaulted over the Acosta street. It is the most extensive among those of Old Havana.

The church owns a baroque expression façade where components marked by cornices and pilasters. Between them, the door in the shape of an arch, a trumpet-shaped urn with stone statues and in the higher part a pediment of curve lines with sculptured relieves are showed. The space over the only nave is covered by canon vaults with a dome in the crossing.

The convent is composed of six cloister courtyards, according to the constructive typology at that time with arcades, porticos and bases . The arch above the street built to communicate the convent with the adjoining buildings is a remarkable urban exponent.
